Knife that I recently made for guitar making (or really for making any instruments). This one I sold for $30, it went to a guitar builder in the UK. Blade is hardened steel, scales are cocobolo (rosewood) w/ brass pins.
No finish The handle was buffed on a buffing wheel with brown tripoli Makes for a very nice and shiny look on hard woods like rosewood
After this photo, though, I did end up finishing the handle with some lacquer because to seal the endgrain and protect from moisture changes (because it was shipped overseas).
I like it! Is it a chisel grind (one side) for the edge? That is a nice cocobolo scale with some good color. I like the clean but functional design. Good work.
Thanks! I actually purchased the blade, I don't make my own because I don't know much about tempering steel (though I would learn if I had the money to buy oil quenched steel to practice making plane irons and such).
