High Contrast Black and White by murkar High Contrast Black and White by murkar
EDIT: Aweosme! We're at 7000 downloads - I guess this was useful :) Peace and love

I use a bit of a different method to achieve my black and white photos so that I get the most contrast possible. This is how I do most of my B&W conversions, it works better than any other method I've used. I use this method manually rather than using the action to get each photo how I want it but this is a shortcut you can all use - break the action apart to see the steps I take to make by B&W photos.

*Note: The action also sharpens images, so you shouldn't sharpen your images until after using the action (if necessary), otherwise they may become oversharpened.

There may be some post processing which needs to be done afterwards, and this may not work perfectly for every photo, but it should do a fairly good job for most properly exposed photos (portraits especially).

Instructions
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
1- Download the file
2- Save the file in "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2 (or other version)\Presets\Photoshop Actions"
3- Open Photoshop
4- Open the Actions Pallette (Alt+F9)
5- Click the little arrow in the circle at the top right of the pallete
6- Click 'Load Actions'
7- Select the B&W Conversion action file which you saved and click open
8- *Optional Click the little arrow again to open the options (where you clicked 'load actions') and make sure that button mode has a checkmark beside it (if it does not, click 'button mode' and it should switch to that mode)
9- In the actions pallete, just click the button which says 'Murkar's B&W Convert' to run the action

Of course, after it's isntalled, you just need to open the actions pallete and click the 'Murkar's B&W Convert' button to convert photos.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

DO NOT RIP THIS. :police:

:+fav: if you download please, because it will promote my actions/filters/etc. and I may post more if this one is a success

Enjoy

Incredibly amazing. I love the fact it doesn't blow out whites. Would you mind if I share the link to this with a few people?
